Kusafiri Shawlette pattern release

I am very pleased to announce the release of a new pattern, the Kusafiri Shawlette.
It has spent the previous month in testing, and with the very helpful work and input of MadTatter, riverwatcher, mum2five, it is now ready! ^^

Kar{e)tpostal care tags!

Recently I realised that writing out care instructions in a tag that accompanies the handmade item you have made, is not really practical, so a month ago I released a template that would solve this need.

So I tried drawing! I researched which are the most common care labels for handmade items, draw each one of them by hand and put them in a card.

The result are the Kar{e)tpostal care tags:

Ein kleines rotes Herz

More than one month later, I realise that I haven't written about my most recent published design. Ein kleines rotes Herz, which translates from German to 'a small red heart'.

A new pattern edition and new layouts!

For the needs of my knitting classes I recently translated one of my patterns in Greek! And a bit after, I decided to update the layout of the English version for the same pattern, as well as for another, and for that reason, I took brand new lovely pictures!

Templeton Wrap pattern release and a giveaway!

I am very happy to announce the release of the Templeton Wrap pattern! It has been some time since it it's creation, but I am glad that I eventually found time to write it up properly.

I had three wonderful and very helpful testers [SamPixieDot, sanita60 and bobnlin on Ravelry] for a working process that lasted almost a month.

Since the design was originally created for the Knitty Templeton Competition, it’s main purpose is to highlight the Templeton square and it’s knitted qualities. It's worked in seven different parts, either in the round or flat, but features no seams: everything is knitted on the go, by picking up stitches.
The main body features variations of the main Templeton motif in order to accommodate the shaping of the garment. And there is a small crochet detail - the border all around the piece.

Full details are available on the Ravelry page and it is also available in my shop.
[instructions in English]

And now for the fun part, to celebrate the pattern release, I am hosting a pattern giveaway starting today until Friday 11th of October 12am (UTC +2)!

Participation is both active on the blog and my facebook page. You can participate in both to double your chances of winning!

All you need to do is:
- comment on this post [don't forget to include your email address! or other contact info]
- like and share this on facebook. [it only counts for that particular post!]

There will be 3 winners from each source, making it to total 6 freebies!

Good luck!

Summer knitting [and crochet]

And for a small break from the road trip story, the past month I have been doing some relax knitting - and that before I found a new obsession, which I will reveal soon!

The Templeton Square Competition Results

A few days ago the results of the competition came out. As much as you might be surprised, you have no idea how much I was, when I heard the news. Especially after seeing all the contestants' pieces!! So amazing and creative!

But I am very happy and grateful to Knitty Magazine and Franklin Habit that organised this inspiring, creative and challenging contest!

I had lot's of fun taking part and I feel that I challenged myself a bit more!

The next challenge would be to make something intricate with the yarn of the prize. I have never worked with Cascade yarns before and I am looking forward to it! ^^

P.S: to all those wondering, I have plans of creating a pattern for the wrap, but I have no idea yet, when will I be able to write it up, because exam season begins shortly and I have limited free time. :\

The Flowerpot coat

Winter is over, and finally the Flowerpot coat is done! But words can't describe how awesome it is - and this comes from a person that doesn't really like knitting the garter stitch.

Yarn addiction

I think I am becoming a yarn addict. Apart from knitting all the time, I have developed a serious lust towards woolie things of various types.

Bandana Cowl

Well here is a disappointment I haven't seen in a while.

I did this cowl 3 times, but still managed to make a mistake. Of course by the third time I had no will to try and fix the problem. So I just left it like that. And hope that someday I will finally make it again.

Two more free patterns!

Autumn is here, the time for hats!
I revisited older designs I had made in previous years and the result, two easy and quick patterns!

The first one is Rose, a crochet slouchy hat (one of my personal favorites)

and the second one, Die Ohren der Katze, a simple and quirky hat for everyday.

You can find both on Raverly or in this page: http://uberdentraum.blogspot.gr/p/free-patterns.html

Also, I recently got positive feedback on my very first design, Water Drops. I was very happy to know that people enjoyed making those earrings. ^^  And even took the initiative to use the motif to use something more! Cool!

Knee warmers

A while back I mentioned that I had a small accident. Because of that I turned out to worry much more than usual about my knees. After having been told by my doctor that biking is almost forbidden for me, something which is pretty important since I bike everywhere, all the time, I decided to turn into protection-mode rather than forbid-mode. And this is what I came up with:

Ein Hut für Sommer, the pattern!

I am so excited, because yesterday I finished and uploaded my third pattern, Ein Hut für Sommer, which is this hat here.

It's the slouchy, beret-like hat I created more than a year ago. I really like it's fit and since it's still summer, I decided to write a pattern for it. It's fairly easy to make, and easy to adjust the size.

Updates of the recent weeks

So, exams are almost over, and it's time for knitting!! I have my on my needles a tie and my first try on cotton shorts! But before those, I completed some other stuff. And yes, I did practice my embroidery! ^^

Und ja, I habe meine Stickerei geübt! ^^

First Pattern EVAR! Yeah!

Two days ago I uploaded my first ever crochet pattern on Ravelry. And I have to admit, that I didn't anticipate such a quick and positive response! If you follow me on facebook, then you already know that I have completed also another one - which I will be uploading also soon.
