<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">It is amazing how fast time flies when you're too busy. There have been plans for the development of this blog for quite some
time now, but because of an evident lack of time and sometimes energy, I
haven't been able to create new posts.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Luckily the situation has changed and today I am in the
happy position to announce that the blog has a new home! It's fancier,
but mainly a lot more organized. You can find it at blog.uberdentraum.com

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">With the new version I aim to improve the user experience so any thoughts and feedback would be very welcome. :)

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Looking forward to sharing many exciting projects with you!

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">The project that I am going to talk about today is rather fascinating because it incorporates the beautiful concept of fractals as it's main color work pattern. The second most interesting part is that it is double knitted, creating a double sided, double soft and thick piece of fabric that fends off the cold very well.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">My second attempt on a Norah Gaughan design is the ever-so-popular Beatnik cable sweater, which had been on my queue for quite some time. I really enjoyed making it, even when it got a bit time consuming or boring at times.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The design is modern and retro at the same time, and it features a neckline that is to die for! (One of the main reasons I wanted to make this pattern)
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Something new I tried very recently, is the concept of no-show socks. Socks that can be worn to provide comfort or to prevent the creation of blisters, and at the same time give the impression of a bare foot. Sheila Toy Stormberg over at Ravelry is really into this type of socks and has produced patterns for many different versions.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I followed Skimmer Socks, and it was pretty neat.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">One of the most colorful(and cheerful) projects I've made to date, is a pair of gloves made by only one strand of yarn. Throughout. <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">This time I get to write about two small projects that I am particularly fond of, for different reasons. Both are made in cross stitch - a craft that I have found as particularly relaxing and enjoyable lately. That might be the case because in knitting and crochet, I am gradually moving towards bigger and more complex projects, whereas in cross stitch, so far, my attempts have been small and quick to complete.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">There was a time that my hands were itching to make a hat and instead of just making one, I made three! For two out of three I wanted to experiment with increases, binding off and different ribbing. The one that stands out was a present for my mother: she asked for a slouchy warm hat and even gave me the yarn! But that yarn has an interesting story.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">For more than 6 months I had been expecting to leave the country permanently in October (last month) for a job offer in Zambia. I didn't mention it, because, well, things can go the other way easily. Some difficulties came up from the other side and now I am waiting indefinitely to see wether the plans will ever be completed or not.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The situation is a bit fuzzy and this delay is not entirely a bad thing, since I didn't manage to finish some things I planed for the University, but it still threw me off my preparation mode.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I am finally able to talk about one of the things that kept me busy the last couple of months. It is something I had been thinking about for a long time, and since our small shop over at Etsy has been growing, I thought I should finally give it a try.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I created a main site for this blog, www.uberdentraum.com, which right now functions mainly as an e-shop. It features a dedicated to the shop blog list, but one of my future plans is to integrate this blog to the main site too.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The site features only a part of our Etsy merchandise, but more stock will be added soon. What I like best, is that now I have the opportunity to organise well all of my patterns outside of Ravelry. A complete pattern library will be added sometime in the future.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Progress is generally slow, since my main job is still studying and working on my Thesis, but I hope that it won't be too slow. xD
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">P.S.1: Do you like the website's design? I tried to match the blog's colors but added lots more pictures (as headers)
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">P.S.2: we are offering 15% discount as a welcome sale with coupon code welcome ! :)

That is how the pen tablet glove was created.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Yesterday I failed an exam and disappointment was inevitable. <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Intarsia is a simple colorwork knitting technique that uses 2 or more colors in every working row. What makes it different than stranded knitting, is that the colors are worked in 'blocks' and almost no color is worked throughout the row, only at specific parts.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">That means that we have 'columns' of stitches of different colors which we work by switching between yarns. The 'trick' to achieve this, without producing holes in our work, is to twist the yarns with each other.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">After completing the last cycle of knitting lessons, I was left with a few materials and among them were also a few cotton yarn skeins. Looking for a way to use them up, I came up with the idea of a simple summer shawl.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">About a month ago, I (lately) realised that on ebay one can find lots and lots of kinds crochet hooks on very low prices. (from China of course)
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">So since my collection of crochet hooks was very small, I decided to buy whole sets of crochet hooks and compare their quality and usability.
